IT giant Google is working on a new app called Files Go. As per the report, this particular app is responsible to manage, clean up and share files in a lightning fast rate. It is also being said that Files Go app is very much similar to Apple’s AirDrop.
For those who don’t know, the main objective of AirDrop app is to send files to nearby IOS phones over Bluetooth.
It is also being said that Files Go is not as fast and convenient as AirDrop. In the case of Files Go, the receiver and the sender need to have the app open, but in the case of AirDrop, files can be send to any of the contacts, even if they don’t have the same app.
Anyway, inspite of some defaults, as of now it is a boon for Android phones for sure. At present, Android Beam is the best medium for sending files to the nearby phones which just requires an NFC connection in both the sets.
Yesterday, Files Go app was spotted in the play store, but unfortunately the app is not available as of now as it is in testing period.
As the name refers “Go”, it seems to be a part of Google’s Android Go initiative, which means the goal is to make Android work better on smart phones and at the same time they are promoting the OS so that more and more people will move towards Android systems.
The app, “Files Go” consumes less than 10 MB space and it has one more additional feature named as ‘clearing up’. It is designed in such a way that users can see a dashboard displaying storage space left, large files to be deleted in order to create free space and also has a button to clear cached files.
